Nucraft Ascari Collection - Designed by Gensler
Ascari was developed in collaboration with Gensler — the largest architecture and design firm in the world. That's not a marketing line. It's what separates Ascari from every other commercial casegood collection on the market: this is furniture designed by the same firm that designs the buildings it sits inside. The proportions, the material transitions, the sculptural details — they read as architecture because they came from architects.
The convergence of thick and thin surfaces.
That phrase describes what Ascari's designers built the collection around. Look at any Ascari desk and you'll see it: substantial work surfaces meeting delicate frames, thick veneer edges giving way to thin metal reveals, weight and lightness playing against each other in the same piece. It's the visual signature that makes an Ascari private office recognizable across a room — even if the client doesn't know exactly what they're looking at.
Integrated pulls — powdercoat, polished chrome, or matching veneer.
Every drawer and door in the Ascari collection uses a sculptural integrated pull — no bolted-on hardware interrupting the surface. Specify the pull in powdercoat, polished chrome, or in the same veneer as the case itself (a pull carved from the same wood, disappearing into the drawer front). That last option is what apex specification looks like: a manufacturer offering the customer control over a detail most manufacturers don't even let you see.
Specify in veneer, paint, or mixed materials.
Ascari work surfaces are real wood veneer. Cases and drawers are specified in painted finishes, veneer finishes, or combinations — one material for the work surface, another for the case, another for the doors. That level of material choice, coordinated inside a single collection, is what apex specification means. Custom finishes are also available on request.
Wall panels — glass, veneer, or fabric.
Ascari's magnetic wall panels come in three materials: back-painted glass, matching veneer, or fabric. The wall behind the desk stops being a backdrop and becomes part of the composition — architectural, textural, and coordinated to the collection itself. Cambium offers magnetic glass only. Ascari offers all three.
Overhead and back-panel shelving, built in.
Ascari includes a formal shelving system — overhead shelves in veneer or anodized aluminum, back-panel shelves that carry across the storage cases in matching materials. Shelving isn't an add-on component; it's part of the collection's architectural language.
Height-adjustable work surfaces.
Sit-stand mechanics are integrated on every configuration — freestanding, L-shape, T-shape, and U-shape. Not bolted on. Not an accessory. Built into the design.
Built in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1945.
Nucraft has been building commercial casegoods in Grand Rapids for 80 years. Ascari is engineered, manufactured, and finished in the same facility as every other Nucraft collection, by the team that developed it with Gensler. That's the difference between design that's licensed and design that's built.
Ascari and Cambium — where they differ.
Cambium is Nucraft's modern apex private office — a full system for a discerning buyer who wants real veneer, architectural detailing, and integrated functionality. Ascari is the collection above it: designed with Gensler, integrated pulls with three finish options including matching veneer, wall panels in glass or veneer or fabric, and a formal shelving system that reads as architecture rather than furniture. Both are on display at Alan Desk. Come see them and understand what specifies each one.

Configuration Typicals
The freestanding, L-shape, U-shape, and T-shape typicals below show what Ascari can do — not what you have to buy. Every station is specified around your office, your work, and your budget. Choose the desk alone. Add a credenza. Add wardrobes and glass display shelving. Skip the pieces you don't need. Every component is available in the same finishes and materials, so what you specify still reads as one office.
Our designers will help you build it.
